Deputy President William Ruto's tour in Vihiga County has brought joy to the residents as he commissioned street lights in Cheptulu, Shiru ward. The street lights have been erected from Cheptulu-Friends College Kaimosi and Cheptulu- Kaimosi Teachers Training College costing 11 million in the first phase of a total of 750 million for the whole project. Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo Saturday 29th September 2018 launched a cardiac unit at Vihiga County Referral Hospital.The centre which is fully fledged and operational, also has a  cardiologist (Cuban doctor) sent by the National Government.
